Windows 7 the best yet July 28, 2010 D. Barclay (Newcastle upon Tyne, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this upgrade as my pc was running slower and slower. The installation was easy you get two dvd's so select the one for your system and away you go.
My computer is now so fast it is like new and this was installed a month ago. This is the way Windows Vista should have been.
Windows 7 July 27, 2010 Matthew Pearson I bought this because my workplace are going to be rolling it out soon, and also because work colleagues recommended it. I did the upgrade from XP so it did perform a format of my Hard disk drive whilst upgrading. It took a little bit of getting used to, but i find it a great operating system. A million times better than Vista (which i loath).
This is what Vista should have been July 21, 2010 Feefeeonly 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You don't need my review to know that Windows 7 runs more efficiently than Vista.
Key points:
- Back up your profile or your files to an external drive - can be very easily done by following instructions from MS website
- Go for the reinstall option
It took me about 4 hours to back up (started the process and went out), 1 hour to install, and an additional 4-5 hours to migrate my old files (did that overnight).
There were some display issues once it was up and running (hence the 4 star instead of 5), but very easily fixed.
And now my laptop runs like a dream.
Stop umming and arring and invest a few hours of your time - it's worth it.
windows 7 upgrade July 20, 2010 robby 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
totally dissatisfied. should be a simple upgrade but beware if it does not load properly like mine had to reset pc to original settings loosing all data
Windows 7 July 20, 2010 Eric Fram-Taylor (UK) Had I realised what the upgrade involved I wouldn't have bothered. It is sitting on the shelf unused and will stay there until I get the time to move every thing from my hard drive, upgrade, then re-install a lot of my software. Not something I had planned on.
