Windows 7 Ultimate September 1, 2010 Mr. E. N. Heyes (Wales, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this based on the Microsoft advertising that said I could keep runnning "nearly all" my XP software. I had hoped that would mean that my hardware which wasn't seen as a problem for Windows 7 would keep working under XP. NO! The Hp d series printer and the Deskjet 990Cxi, the Iomega HHD and the Epson 2450 Scanner all have problems. My OmniPage Optical Character Reading software no longer works, the audio sofware by Roxio now longer functions as before. Microsoft Bookshelf no longer works as does my Autoroute. The Belkin PCI 4 usb port reports errors. My GSI screen reolution has altered which has made the letters unreadable. Never mind the fact that I bought an illegal copy, according to Microsoft, via Amazon. I'm not greatly pleased. Getting help for WIndows 7 and its software is like scaling an impenerable wall of words without real people to understand the problems. It now does a fraction of what it did before. As for going 64-bit they have jumped the gun as you will find out while even trying to talk to Adobe. The Home and student Edition of Office is only offered as 32 bit.
Microsoft OS 7 August 29, 2010 Bryan Reeves Product arrived on-time and validated fine with Microsoft(MS7) and is clearly the best OS from MS to date.
Just to be on the safe side I loaded Windows 7 alongside my current Vista OS, now have very little use for the Vista.
Win 7 Ultimate rubbish August 28, 2010 Doctor Barber 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have never had so maney problems with an Opperating System in all my life, oh no, I did try Vista for three days, and this Win 7 I have done my best for over a month now. How can it not know the printer (Epson PX650) after you turn off and back on? If you just want to play, it's fine BUT for work, stay with XP
Nice but not Essential August 23, 2010 D. Marr (UK) i bought the full WIndow 7 Ultimate and whilst its nice to have its not the earth shattering system i had hoped for
Microsoft pricing is an example where someone has market dominance
