Brilliant March 1, 2010 Aden Mazur (Scotland, UK) Bought this for my friends Christmas to scare his sister with! Turns out she actually has a phobia of spiders so when she saw it she went into complete shock and didn't sleep for 3 nights... But hey - at least it worked!
One thing which I'd say ruins it's authenticity are the glowing eyes!
I say that but then it took me 10 minutes to gather the courage to touch it!
tarantula January 3, 2010 C. Glanfield (uk) This remote controlled spider lasted about 5 mins with my 3 boys before he lost a leg but im sure it will be fine in the right hands it only works on a hard flat floor not carpet
Tarantula experience December 16, 2009 Pete Ok, I bought this Remote Control Tarantula. Before I got it, I figured it would be smaller than it actually was. Also there's red lights in its eyes, which I didn't like much. The Tarantula felt less horror-like than imagined. The remote control uses two AA batteries and the Tarantula two AAA batteries. I haven't tested it that much to tell how long the batteries lasts. Anyway, the most annoying thing I discovered with this toy is the noise it generates when it's moving. It's too noisy to be spooky, period. The movement is slow, but looks quite realistic.
The control of the Tarantula is simple. The egg shaped controller has two buttons, forward and turn clockwise. Also I haven't tested the maximum range that the Tarantula will still function.
Anyway, the overall points for this toy would be average. My cat was more interested in the red tip of the controller's antenna than the actual spider.
- Pete
A Little tricky even on concrete floors December 2, 2009 A. Menec (UK) A little dissapointing on anything other than a perfectly smooth floor; but very convincing in the jerky way it turns, very like the real thing.

Very well made toy! Perfect movements (although they did not convince my two cats...)
But my two young daughters just loved it!
One default only: the LED red eyes spoil the very convincing spider aspect (I think I will paint them in grey color to frighten my visits).
P.S. - This seller is perfect - you may buy with all confidence.
